Kiwi batsman Anderson breaks Shahid Afridi fastest century record in ODI | PakistanTribeQUEENS TOWN: New Zealand batsman Corey Anderson has broken the fastest century record of Pakistan star All-Rounder Shahid Afridi in 3rd One-Day International against West Indies at Queens Town Stadium today.
Afridi has lost his fastest century recordon the occassion of New Year celebrations.
Anderson had made the quickest century record in just 36 balls during the third ODI against West Indies.
Anderson had hit 12 sixes and 4 fours to scoring first fastest century in the ODI history, while he had hit total 14 sixes and 6 fours in the 21 overs match, his total was 131.
Boom Boom Afridi had scored the fastest century in just 37 balls against Sri Lanka in 1996.
However, the record might not be counted as this ODI, between New Zealand and West Indies, was shortened to 21 overs only due to rain. And record book requires the ODI match to be of at least 25 overs for anyone to enter it.
So there are fair chances that Shahid Afridi will retain his record of fastest century in just 37 balls, which he made against Sri Lanka in 1996 in Nairobi.
